Basic Course in Nursing Informatics

The course deals with the beginning health informatics competencies in the use of information and communication technologies for health (ICT4Health) in the capabilities of a health care provider as a clinician, researcher, and manager. Furthermore, it deals with preparatory updates, directions, and policies that outline the standards in the promotion of informatics-enabled health care practice leading towards Basic Health Informatics Certification or its equivalent per health care profession.

Dr. John Faustorilla is currently a Lecturer 2 at the University of the Philippines Manila College of Medicine, a Professional Lecturer 1 at De La Salle University College of Computer Studies Computer Technology Department and a freelance ISO Auditor at TUV Rheinland Philippines. He finished his BS in Nursing from PLM College of Nursing, MA in Nursing from St Paul University Manila, Masters in Development Management from Asian Institute of Management, Doctor in Nursing Science from St Paul University Philippines , Diploma in Computer Science from the University of the Philippines Open University, and Masters in Information Security from De La Salle University. His research interests include artificial intelligence, nursing informatics, entrepreneurship in nursing, quality management system, occupational health and safety management system, environmental management system, information security management system, business continuity management system, and educational organization management system applied to nursing and allied health care practice.
